Workday Senior Analyst for the Student Financials

domain. The incumbent will support all aspects of the Student Financials Workstream as part of the Elevate Program’s Workday Student implementation. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team shaping the future of student financials at the University of Maryland.The incumbent will provide strong organization and direction in all aspects of the Student Financials workstream including:Tuition and fee assessmentExternal chargesStudent billingThird party billingStudent refundsPayment methods (payment plans, ACH and credit card)Application of paymentCollections1098-T reportingThe Student Financials Senior Analyst should have a deep understanding of the above processes, student account maintenance, student accounting, revenue distribution, and payment methods from a functional, technical, and regulatory perspective. In addition, the incumbent should have a strong working knowledge of financial aid and student records and registration.The incumbent will 1) support the design, configuration, testing, and adoption of the Workday Student system for the respective domain area 2) provide overall coordination, including across functional areas and within Elevate, to include program deadlines and deliverables (e.g., decision documentation, progress reports).This role will be one of multiple Workday Analysts reporting directly to the Student Product Owner in the Division of Information Technology (DIT). This is a full-time, permanent position with the ERP team in DIT. Following implementation of Workday Student, the incumbent will transition to a production support role responsible for ongoing management of Student Financials functionality in Workday. This position is considered an essential position and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergencies to help maintain continuity of University services.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Experience:Minimum of seven (7+) years’ experience of progressively responsible experience with Student Financials operations in a Higher Education environment and the expertise described in the position summary.In-depth knowledge of Student information systems, particularly in the area of student financials.Experience with Student support, problem identification, and resolution.Expertise with office productivity applications such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under various conditions and constraints.Ability to work as part of a team and with members of other functional/technical teams to identify action items, team member responsibilities, etc.Ability to understand possible impacts to changes to a highly integrated system, determine the depth/breadth of testing necessary to minimize risk of system changes, execute and record results of testing (including data staging), etc.Analytical abilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving competencies to support non-standard, unique problem resolution.Knowledge of Student life cycle, regulatory requirements, and current business challenges in the area of Student Financials.Exceptional interpersonal skills, including relationship and conflict management.Preferences:Master’s Degree from an accredited college or universityExperience implementing or using a modern student information systemExperience with large-scale, cross-functional technology implementations in an institution of higher educationExperience in change management or project managementExperience managing relationships with implementation partnersThis position does not provide sponsorship for Visas.Job Risks:Job Risks Not Applicable to This PositionPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The incumbent works in an office environment and the position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.Must have the ability to attend meetings on and off campus.Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.This position is considered an essential position and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergencies to help maintain continuity of University services.Posting Date:
