We create delightful surprises and meaningful moments within a safe and caring community.Job Summary/Position Overview:The Area Director of Business Development is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive external sale and marketing plan that builds the Arbor brand, drives referrals and increases revenue while gaining market share. A large emphasis of business development is to educate and partner with key sources including professional medical community, community associations, and related providers. The Area Director of Business Development works with the Community Sales Director and Executive Directors to assesses the local market to develop a strategic marketing plan tailored to the geographic region in which the community is located.Success in this role is measured by:Meeting established metrics and goals expectationsSuccessful external business development sales and marketing effortsSynergy and collaboration with community team leadersIncreased revenue through professional referralsPositive brand reputation in the marketplace that drives lead generationKey Duties and Responsibilities:Create and implement a successful external business development sales and marketing strategyMonitor external and internal environment for development of new market niches and future possibilities for Arbor to stand out boldly in the marketGenerate leads and move-ins from targeted external referral sourcesIdentify new opportunities for leads through education, collaboration with external partners and brand promotionIncrease professional referrals and works with teams to remove potential barriersMeet regularly with the Vice President of Sales to provide information, updates, and reports on a timely basisPerforms public speaking to volunteer organizations and committees regarding Arbor and our different and better storyCompletes weekly strategic plan reportsSignificant local travel for sales and marketing opportunities, including external sales commitments and after-hours engagementsOther, related duties as assignedPreferred Background:

At least three years’ experience in senior living sales with a proven track record of success in growing occupancy, revenue, and metricsAbility to develop creative and strategic plans that incorporate outreach development and purposeful event planningAwareness of issues and trends affecting the industryBasic knowledge of, and increasing competency with, computer systems, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word and use of a CRM systemValid driver’s license and safe driving recordCompliance with Arbor community-wide job requirementsBusiness development: 1 year (Preferred)Senior Living Sales: 2 years (Preferred)Supplemental pay types:
