Overview:Our client is a leading medical device company, seeking a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team. This role is essential for ensuring the timely availability of high-quality materials required for manufacturing and production. The successful candidate will handle various responsibilities including planning, supplier management, procurement, and cost optimization for complex components and assemblies sourced from contract manufacturers or suppliers.Key Responsibilities:PlanningDevelop purchase plans based on updated product forecasts and material requirements, aiming to support manufacturing schedules while optimizing inventory levels.Maintain accurate vendor part-master and lead-time data in the company's ERP system.PurchasingSource and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing for components, equipment, and services that support production and engineering.Process purchase orders in the ERP system, manage orders with suppliers, and ensure timely deliveries.Handle a higher level of spend responsibility compared to junior buyers.Supply Chain ManagementAssess and enhance supplier reliability, and work on continuous improvement to secure the best value.Identify and develop new supplier sources as needed, ensuring compliance with quality and financial standards.Collaborate with Quality and Finance teams to review and monitor suppliers in accordance with regulatory requirements and financial goals.Assist in creating and maintaining supplier agreements, and lead cost improvement projects from inception to completion.Inventory ManagementProvide input on inventory disposition during the Material Review Board process and manage returns and excess/obsolete material.ReceivingOversee the receipt of goods and services, coordinating with suppliers to ensure accurate deliveries.Work with Quality Assurance to manage product flow through quality control processes and address any non-conforming materials.Budgetary/FinancialAssist in developing and monitoring the purchasing budget and report on financial metrics related to procurement.Perform financial analyses to assess the viability of cost reduction initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a technical field, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related area.At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Buyer Planner, particularly in manufacturing instrumentation or medical devices.Proficient in ERP systems, planning tools, Bill of Material structures, and component specifications.Experience in supply chain management, supplier relationship management, and procurement practices including negotiations and supply agreements.Knowledge of inventory management, turnkey supplier management, and new product introduction.Experience within regulated quality systems (e.g., ISO, FDA cGMP/QSR) is preferred.Strong collaboration, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems is preferred; APICS certification is a plus.Compensation:$80,000 - $108,000
