Job SummaryThe California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Office of AIDS (OA), Quality Improvement Health Care Specialist 2 evaluates and certifies Nursing Facility Level of Care (NF LOC) for new and existing Medi-Cal Waiver Program (MCWP) participants, conducts comprehensive chart reviews during on-site program compliance reviews, develops and delivers training and education to CDPH/OA staff and MCWP Agency personnel, and assists with federal and state reporting. Works independently and as part of the MCWP team.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $75,700 - $160,500 (Annual Rate).

Department DescriptionThe Alliance Health Project (AHP) is a community-based LGBTQ+ and HIV-focused clinic located at 1930 Market Street in San Francisco. We provide psychotherapy, substance use counseling, case management, support groups, psychiatry, sexual health services, clinical traineeship, and provider education and training. Our multi-disciplinary staff are a client-centered, collaborative, Harm Reduction-oriented team. We have continued to grow as a community-based clinic by anticipating and addressing the changing needs of our LGBTQ+ and HIV community members for more than 35 years. Our process of continuous improvement of service to our community includes a strong focus on cultural humility and anti-racist service provision.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing or other healthcare profession and one year of experience or a combination of comparable clinical education and/or experience.

Working knowledge of QI standards, clinical chart review and abstraction, and regulatory requirements.

Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to complete projects and tasks on a timely basis.

Demonstrated problem solving skills to assess problems quickly and develop multiple options for effective and timely resolution.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with a range of clinical and technical staff and representatives of external regulatory agencies.

Demonstrated ability to effectively convey complex clinical and technical information both verbally and in writing, and to produce reports, presentations and documentation.

Working knowledge of various administrative and business software packages, and of the specialized applications for quality data management.

Must be able to use Microsoft suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Must work onsite two days a week.

This position requires statewide travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in compliance, chart reviews, and/or federal state reporting is strongly desired.

License/Certification

Valid California Registered Nurse License.
