Sr. Accountant (Hybrid Remote)

Salary: $70,000 - 95,000/yearThis position allows for 2-3 days per week remote / work from home after training.We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with a strong background in healthcare accounting and a minimum of 3 years of General Ledger (GL) accounting experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a solid understanding of healthcare accounting principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.General Ledger Management:
Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.Healthcare Accounting Expertise:
Apply knowledge of healthcare regulations, billing practices, and reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.Audit & Compliance:
Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements specific to the healthcare industry.Expense Management:
Monitor and analyze expenses, including reviewing and approving expense reports, and ensure that expenditures align with budgetary constraints and company policies.Account Reconciliation:
Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments to support financial reporting needs and provide accounting insights as needed. Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred but not required.Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, with a focus on healthcare accounting preferred.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., [specific software], ERP systems), and advanced Excel skills.Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of healthcare accounting practices, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards.Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Organizational Skills:
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
