Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, experience working with credit unions, and proficiency in financial software. This role involves managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and supporting our overall financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and reconciling accounts.Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records and identify discrepancies.Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and on time, including calculating wages, deductions, and issuing paychecks.Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and assist with tax filings.Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, with a preference for experience working with credit unions.Software Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
