Are you ready to be part of something truly groundbreaking? As a data scientist at Flip Shop, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionize e-commerce. You will get to be a full stack data scientist to harness the power of data and user-generated content to enhance the shopping experience and drive unprecedented growth.Location:

This role can be based in our office in San Francisco, CA or El Segundo, CA.Responsibilities:

Strategic Insights:

Collaborate with leaders across the company to uncover actionable insights that will shape our strategic direction and drive business growth. You will get to solve interesting problems and develop analytical expertise and business understanding across different domains such as product, marketing, sales, finance, operations.Innovative Solutions:

Spearhead the development of innovative data science solutions leveraging ML & other advanced techniques to personalize the shopping experience and drive engagement. Many of these solutions would actually get to be implemented in live.Performance Tracking & Experimentation:

Develop and implement KPIs and dashboards to monitor the performance of key initiatives and track their impact via key metrics. Determine impact of changes through experimentation and causal inference studies.Requirements:

Programming:

Proficiency in both SQL and one advanced coding language such as Python or R. Experience in working with and transforming large, messy, and complex datasets.Technical Data Foundations:

Solid knowledge and prior experience in applying ML and other advanced analytical, statistical, or modeling techniques to solve real-world business problems. Experience with causal inference and expertise in statistics as a plus.Problem Solving & Creative Thinking:

A strong problem-solver and creative thinker who can think innovatively and structurally to come up with data science solutions to complex problems.Passion for Innovation:

Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.$100,000 - $130,000 a yearBase salary and total compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Please note the base salary is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include equity, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and other progressive benefits.
