With this massive mission, we are looking to build a strong team of skilled and talented Python Engineers within our People & Finance Technology organization to be a core contributor while we expand the team in this space.

As a Senior Python Engineer , you will be a key member of the engineering staff, work in a highly collaborative environment and have a passion for building high-performance, low maintenance, zero-downtime platforms, and applications. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.

Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep full stack development experience with a focus on Python, Postgre, SQL and Data Governance.

Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer , you will:

Design, implement and support data quality solutions.Design and implement solutions to manage data products, data contracts and data dictionaries.Design and implement data lineage solutionsSupport, troubleshoot, implement, and maintain enterprise data governance solutionsSupport, troubleshoot implement and maintain, resilient distributed systemsBuild product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solutionEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycleDefine, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspectiveMentor other engineersConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams

Qualifications

Programming experience with PythonExperience with SQL and NoSQL databasesExperience with SQL query language and relational database conceptsExperience with API development and integration, Spring Boot framework and other Spring technologiesData management experience to include metadata management, data lineage and data quality experienceExperience with relational and non-relational database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, COSMOS, NoSQLUnderstanding and experience working with Microsoft Azure DevOps (work items, build/release, CICD)Understanding of Data Ingestion/ streaming tooling such as ADF (Azure Data Factory), Kafka, FiveTran, Spark, or similar technologiesUnderstanding of metadata management, data Ingestion, data management, data quality, and data lineage services and technologiesIntermediate level understanding of Azure concepts including Azure portal, network security zones, VNETs, public peered services, PAAS (Platform as a Service) and IAAS (Infrastructure as a Service) servicesExperience working with open-source tools (PostgreSQL)Experience with shell scriptingSolid understanding of container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesPassion to innovate and provide high quality software for data management applications.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiencesKnowledge of n-tier enterprise applicationsObject oriented programming skills and awareness of SOLID design patterns a strong plus.Advanced understanding of monitoring concepts and toolingExperience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)

Experience

4+ years of professional software development experience with at least one modern language such as Python including object-oriented design3 + years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Annual Salary

$76,000.00 - $236,500.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
