Our client is looking for SCADA IT Project Manager (W2 Employment only)Long term Contract- 1 year plusLocation – Houston Downtown- Need to be onsite.No C2C, No Sponsorship.
The PM has overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of multiple concurrent projects. The PM demonstrates technical project management skills, leadership skills, and strategic and business management skills. The IT Project Manager defines project objectives and scope for each phase of the project, overseeing quality control throughout the project’s life cycle, acquiring resources, managing resources, and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects/products according to plan.
Experience, Educational & Special Training Required:
Responsible for the successful management of projectsManages project life cycle from initiating through delivery and project closureManages the day-to-day activities of projects and project resourcesCreates, manages, and tracks project documents including, but not limited to: project schedules, financials (budgets: estimates and actuals), detailed project plans, scope documents, work breakdown structures, cost estimates, resource plans, risk and issue logs, and regular status reportingOrganizes, conducts, and attends meetings with project team and stakeholders to facilitate all levels of project planningManages multiple projects concurrently – 10+, Large Teams, Geographically DispersedWorks with project managers of other teams to ensure overall business and operational requirements are met for company initiativesLeads steering committee meetings with IT and Business leadershipLeads technical and requirements gathering sessions- bringing people and understanding togetherCommunicates and collaborates with internal and external customers as needed including managing expectations, presenting, and interfacing with stakeholdersDrives decisions, including difficult tradeoffs between resources, schedule, and functionalityWorks with third party integration teams to coordinate integration and testingCreates and maintains relationships across the organizationManages the finances of a project including planning, estimating, budgeting, financing, funding, managing, and controlling costs so the project can be completed within the approved budgetPMI PMBOK TrainedA team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersA strong desire for quality and attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and organizational skillsDemonstrates leadership qualities including flexibility and adaptability to changePreferred Skills:
PMP CertificationSpecial Characteristics/Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field5-7 years of related experience in a technology environment, including two to three years of professional experience in project managementSCADA and/or Leak Detection system experience preferredPipeline industry experience preferredIT Mergers and Acquisition experience preferredTravel to San Antonio required.In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
