You’ll also bring your unique perspective and experiences to help us be rigorous, curious and creative.Enterprise Risk Management is the center of risk management for our company and covers all categories of risk, governing policies and standards, risk assessments, and issue and event management. The Assessment Advisory team within ERM is focused on developing risk management strategies, processes and tools to ensure our company effectively manages the business objectives and satisfies the regulatory requirements.We are seeking a dedicated, disciplined, process professional who excels in a team environment. This individual will have experience in risk management, improving processes, identifying with the perspective of our customers, and be able to connect the regulatory environment to processes. This individual must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. Strong problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail, process/project management capability, and results driven are essential to succeeding in this role. This individual should feel comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative information and can move from the “gray” area to grounded recommendation in an organized and transparent manner.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Lead our formal risk and control assessment processes across all lines of businesses and Capital One risk categoriesPlay a key role in contributing to the effective design and delivery of our risk management frameworkCollaborate with our stakeholder community (e.g. risk managers, risk leads, IRM groups, business risk offices, front line process owners) to mature our risk management practicesLeverage data and analytics to manage risk and proactively identify risks and trendsActively support internal and external audits and examsStay abreast of the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to Capital OneLead a team of professionals to advise and consult key stakeholders to drive effective risk identification, assessment, and disposition.Set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teamsFoster an environment of trust, collaboration & belonging while leading a team of risk managersBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or military experienceAt least 4 years of Financial Services experienceAt least 6 years of Risk Management experienceAt least 2 years of People Management experiencePreferred Qualifications (in addition to above):Masters Degree7+ years of Financial Services risk management experience7+ years of experience in Project or Process Management5+ years of internal strategy or management consulting experience leading cross functional financial services projects and programs5+ years of people management experienceAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.Capital One offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being.
