FOIA and Records Management AssistantEagle Health, a subsidiary of Cape Fox Corporation, is seeking a

Junior Analyst/FOIA

and

Records Management Assistant

to support the Office of Federal Acknowledgment (OFA) at the Department of the Interior (DOI) and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). This role involves assisting with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and associated records management. Responsibilities include locating, scanning, reviewing, redacting, and sending responsive documents, as well as managing records related to acknowledgment petitions of Indian tribes. All services provided must comply with Government security, records management, and Section 508 requirements. The work location will be Washington, DC.

Note:

This position is contingent upon contract award.Minimum Requirements:Three to five years related work experience.Two (2) years of specialized or field-related experience in processing FOIA requests or in managing large volumes of records from corporations or from Federal or State governments.Key Responsibilities:Work with requestor to clarify, narrow, or re-submit FOIA requests.Locate and retrieve responsive documents.Standardize paper documents in preparation for digital scanning.Digitally scan documents.Perform optical character recognition (OCR) and digital image enhancement via software as needed.Tag and label documents, files, folders, and boxes with metadata, if needed.Review documents for redactions and withholdings.Collaborate with solicitors and other DOI staff for compliance and quality assurance.Apply redactions and otherwise prepare documents for delivery to requestor.Encrypt documents on electric media, if required.Assist with the writing and review of outgoing correspondence with requestor.Re-shelf, re-file, re-box, or otherwise reorganize paper documents, folders, and boxes.Cape Fox Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates provide equal employment opportunities to all persons and prohibit employment decisions on the basis of race, religion, color, creed, national origin, sex, age, disability, political affiliation, protected veteran status, or sexual orientation. 0 - 10%Salary Grade:Additional Job Requirements:Experience in administering effective controls over records (preferably Federal records), including decision-related documents, administrative correspondence, attorney-client documents, documents with personally identifiable information (PII), and other sensitive documents.Knowledge and experience in applying record retention schedules and developing file plans for large document collections.Ability and knowledge to provide the OFA with technical support in assembling administrative records for discovery and litigation.Experience in records management tasks, digitization tasks, or evaluating FOIA requests and accurately identifying documents responsive to specific FOIA requests.Experience in standardizing and digital documents for scanning.Project Management experience is a plus.At least three (3) years’ experience with the Microsoft Office operating system and one (1) year experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional is required.Must pass a federal background check for a “Moderate Risk Public Trust-Tier 2” clearance with a “minimum background investigation” (MBI).Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
