Hybrid, Monday through Friday 9:00AM-6:00PM (in office a minimum of 4 days/week)Dôen is seeking a highly organized and motivated Designer to join our team on a full-time basis in Van Nuys, CA. The ideal candidate will support the Design Director and the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) in daily functions with an emphasis on shepherding products through Design, Development & Production. Designer-Soft Wovens will report to the Design Director. The description below is only a summary of the typical functions of the job, not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible responsibilities, tasks, and duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the Design Assistants and Design Interns, ensuring that boards, line sheets, decks & pass offs are updated and are being done in a timely manner.Actively participate in the hiring process of Design Assistant and Design Interns; approve time off requests and timesheets.Perform quarterly reviews for Design Assistants; has the authority to make recommendations regarding the advancement or promotion of the Design Assistants.Collaborate between CCO, Design Director, the Product Development and Production Teams to ensure all style information is accurately passed off.Receive design direction from Design Director, and at times CCO, thoughtfully working into all seasonal concepts passed and other duties as assigned.Actively participate in all fittings, giving clear feedback to Tech, Product Development & Production teams on fit, construction and garment components.Direct flow of communication and updates from fittings with appropriate team members.Conduct research to identify new fabrics, techniques, trends, and design inspiration + details in line with brand creative direction.Research and sketch into new designs per seasonal direction, following and updating them through the entire development process.Be mindful of the design/development calendar and help the design team stay on calendar, strategizing lead times when launching new designs.Create and maintain presentation/design boards for weekly design meetings.Coordinate CAD creation work on print/pattern placement layouts when necessary.Input relevant information/construction details/embroidery placements/etc. within pass offs & tech packs to ensure clear communication to the factory.Qualifications

5+ years of experience in the apparel industry.Degree in Apparel or Fashion.Experience with CAD and Adobe (Photoshop & Illustrator) software.Strong base knowledge of garment fit and construction across categories.Strong sketching skills.Knowledge of cross-functional processes with Product Development, Tech & Production.Knowledge of the wash/dye process, embellishments, and different fabrics.Relevant contemporary experience with an appreciation of fabric and trims.Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently at all levels.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Effective time management and ability to stay organized.Attention to detail & deadline-oriented.Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to meet multiple deadlines.Ability to foster an inclusive and respectful working environment.Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation. Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching, and working on a computer. Able to lift/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs. Able to walk, sit, and stand for periods of time. Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones.
