Strategic Development - Children's ServicesFull Time79754BRJob SummaryOverall, the Director of Physician Network Development plays a crucial role in shaping the growth and success of the community network - inclusive of physicians and advanced practice providers (collectively "clinicians") - driving strategic initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and the achievement of organizatioal objectives.This position will be responsible for supporting UCSF Health Network's community clinician network growth objectives. Partnering with leadership in the UCSF Health Medical Foundation and, broadly, the UCSF Health Network, this position will lead efforts to expand employed and partnered clinicians within UCSF Health's Network. With the now longstanding clinician shortage, this position will work to attract and retain community clinicians, the success of which is critical to UCSF Health's Network strength.

This role will be responsible for managing a target pipeline and fostering strong relationshiips with current and prospective clinicians while continuously sourcing and closing new business leads to support clinician network growth. The Director will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, clinical teams, and operational staff, to assess network needs and develop targeted recruitment strategies. A key function will be leading development and maintenance of our physician pipeline including, due diligence, negotiation, closing, and initial on-boarding. The ideal candidate would benefit having experience in physician practice or medical foundation settings and familiarity with the physician market dynamics in the the Bay Area.

This position executes on strategies to expand the community physician network, including identifying target areas for expansion, establishing relationships with potential physician partners, and negotiating business contracts to support partnership with and/or employment of community physicians. Develops multiple methods and services to strengthen relationships and meet the needs of physicians in the marketplace.

This position will be a front facing, visible representative for the UCSF Health Network, and therefore critical to this role, must have proven experience to build trusted relationships with independent clinicians and regional healthcare leaders that result in new alignment and partnership opportunities for UCSF Health. This role requires a combination of strategic planning, business development, and leadership skills, along with a deep understanding of healthcare industry trends and regulations.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related area or four years of equivalent experience.Five (5) or more years of health care experience and/or equivalent, i.e., Physician Recruitment; Strategic and business planning; Market assessment; Basic finance/budget principles; Practice Operations.Proven experience leading the due diligence/vetting, analysis, negotiation, and contracts process for physician practice and provider recruitment.Expert knowledge of the principles, concepts, and strategies involved in successful strategic growth and business development.Expert critical-thinking and analytical, skills to assess complex issues, and sensitive situations and develop solutions.Highly developed knowledge in healthcare planning, business development, and joint venture design.Expert interpersonal skills to interact and negotiate professionally with highly influential entities. Adept at establishing and cultivating business relationships.Highly advanced written and verbal communication skills.
