Job Summary
As UCSF Health integrates newly acquired hospitals and ambulatory sites into our health system, the incumbent will work with the CNIO to plan, develop, and implement integration with newly merged, acquired or affiliated groups in order to create a cohesive, coordinated and comprehensive regional network.
The incumbent will advise and support in the following specific areas:The execution of Transition Services Agreements to ensure continuity of care and back office servicesDecision making regarding scope of programs and servicesQuality and safety concerns such as establishing clinical and quality protocols, facility infrastructure readiness, and staffing analysis and qualificationsInternal and external relations and communicationsOverall shared services and operations integration including IT/Systems, Finance and HRCoordination with UCSF Health administrative and academic leadersIn addition, the incumbent has the following responsibilities through subordinates:
Integration Planning
The incumbent will support the Integration Management Office to plan, execute and monitor integration planning effortsManage comprehensive project plans to achieve transaction rationale/success metricsIdentify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation plansPerformance Monitoring and Optimization
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of the integrated network and create regular reports for the CEO and Chancellor as well as relevant governance boardsMonitor status and rapidly identify issues and mitigants and succinctly communicate them to the appropriate teams, and work to resolve the issues to maximize deal valueAnalyze data and metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.StandardsTogether with operations, quality, and others, identify the UCSF Health standards, approaches and playbooks to replicate throughout the network and at scale and across the enterpriseProgram Development
Lead the implementation of existing and new programs at SFMC and SMMC.
Collaborate closely with strategy, operational teams and physician leadership to achieve objectives
Physician Alignment
To maximize community impact and quality, develop a comprehensive physician workforce plan that determines the

Culture and Change Management
Develop a plan for communicating vision and plan for integration and partner with communications to ensure seamless deliveryManage cultural compatibility of UCSF Health network sites and ensure proper change management in place for seamless integrationConvene stakeholders across sites to ensure work is aligned and positioned to advance integration priorities and establishing regular cadence of communications to senior executive leadership to provide updates, escalate issues, report on milestones, and give visibility on critical next stepsIdentify and address internal and external sensitivities related to clinical, operational and program decisionsAscertain and track risks, actions, issues, decisions, dependencies, and synergies to ensure successful integrationAffiliate Network Systems/Operations Alignment
Collaborate closely with the Chief Network Integration Officer (CNIO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Office of Affiliates to execute a comprehensive plan to ensure seamless operational continuity across the network so that patients can receive coordinate, prompt, and convenient care closer to their homes.Serve as expert and voice for each site through deep understanding of each organization's current state of operations, gaps, and needs
Transition
Together with the integration team, lead the transition of work from consultants to UCSF Health
Merger Integration Planning and Evaluation
Participate in the diligence of target acquisitions, including evaluating key issues and development of post-close integration plansIdentify areas of opportunity and challenges for consideration in integration planningFacilitate integration meetings and develop replicable templates to build UCSF Health's integration playbooksBest Practice Development
Develop and build out integration playbooks for M&A activities and continuously improve integration capabilities by identifying and developing process improvements, best practices, and tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the team throughout the M&A lifecycle
Leadership
Foster a culture of collaboration and communication to ensure a cohesive and integrated healthcare networkServe as main point of contact across integration teams in support of CNIO

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, health administration or clinical degree and/or equivalent experience/trainingSignificant (minimum seven years) management experience in a complex health care organizationThorough knowledge of health care delivery models, business and strategic planning, financial management, and organizational developmentThorough knowledge of budget development, financial analysis, and reporting techniquesAdvanced verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and effectively with medical center leaders and external agenciesAbility to establish and utilize metrics to support operational and process improvementAbility to build and maintain a climate of trust and collaborationExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others
