This position supports field operations by establishing, implementing, communicating, and training organizational regulatory compliance policies, procedures, and systems. Responsibilities include maintaining records in compliance with FMCSA regulations and company policy, ensuring proper communication of changes and updates in regulations and requirements directed by FMCSA, DOT, and related regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound judgment and adherence to compliance regulations, possess strong skills in administrative policy and procedure development, as well as strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills. Maintaining the highest level of integrity and confidentiality is important. The ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise good judgment in dealing with sensitive information is required. The individual must possess a high level of reasoning ability and common sense to resolve complex problems and analyze data and information accurately.Responsibilities of Position:Executes field trainer selection aligned with company-supported trainer profile and audit program for compliance.Perform audits on the ELDT program to track succession rate.Accurately enter program candidates in to the TPR (Training Provider Registry).Perform DOT audits at hauling facilities.Review hours of service for compliance.Review and audit roadside inspections entry into the system. Ensure all “Certification of Repairs” are completed within 15 days or generate and extension letter to the state.Track and forward all roadside inspection agency fines to the HR compliance team.Work with HR compliance to determine employment eligibility and rehire status based on their safe driving background.Provide update on regulatory changes that may impact the company.Provide support to the field as needed.Review and report Safety Measurement Scores (SMS) monthly to the safety team.Review and provide reporting on DOT accident register monthly to the safety team as well as file DATA Q challenges with the agency for all accidents under the Crash Determination Program.Provide training to all drivers and management teams, as applicable, under corresponding state and federal regulations.Research Industry Best Practices and stay abreast of changes or developments in the industry that increases safety and adds value to drivers, to include identifying systems, technology, etc.Provides support with analysis of HOS, Safety and Maintenance compliance with applicable law and company policy.Develop an effective network of both internal and external stakeholders.Identify regulatory compliance risks/concerns and make recommendation or take corrective actions to implement solutions or improve controls.Represent the organization in an honest, ethical, and professional way.File MCS-150 for each DOT number in November with assistance from the HR compliance team and fleet management team.Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:Become a Certified Smith System Trainer.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally.Computer skills; working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft applications.Must be knowledgeable of reading and interpreting federal, state, and local DOT regulations as they relate to the waste industry.Keeping detailed and accurate records.Physical Requirements in a Regular workday:Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20lbs.Occasionally in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, other airborne matter.Frequently working outside.Continuously stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling.Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.Exposure to residential and commercial waste.Ability to travel between offices, as required.Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed.Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls.Legally eligible to work in the United States.Valid driver’s license (if applicable).Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.Must be able to read and speak the English language.This job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. Required:

High School or better.Preferred:

Bachelors or better in Relevant field. General Education Diploma or better.Experience

Required:

3-5 years of previous safety and industry experience. Experienced in developing and delivering group training sessions.Licenses & Certifications
