The Scientific Computing Team at Twist is seeking to hire a

Data Analyst . In this role, you will conduct large scale analyses to develop, improve, and troubleshoot our latest products and internal processes.You will have the opportunity to work on leading-edge products for genomics, diagnostics, and personalized medicine.

Ideal candidates will be comfortable supporting and guiding multidisciplinary internal teams with data-driven analyses. Candidates will need to have experience retrieving, analyzing and presenting process and product data for internal stakeholders. Individuals should be comfortable owning and understanding the analytics for a subset of company processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct exploratory data analysis in python and Databricks in order to answer questions from internal stakeholders

Write SQL queries to retrieve data for downstream analysis

Build robust pipelines to extract, transform and load data

Create dashboards and reports towards tracking KPIs.

Work in tandem with R&D, bioinformatics, production software, and manufacturing to solve problems and create new productswith a data-first mindset.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree with 3 years of experience in a related field such as computer science, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics, or chemistry.

Programming experience - SQL and Python

Comfortable operating in cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt

Experience with visualization tools - Tableau preferred

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Critical and strategic thinking to your work, including making logical conclusions, anticipating obstacles, and open-minded approaches to problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in molecular biology or next-generation sequencing

Experience in bioinformatics and using command line tools
