Bioinformatics Data Analyst II

The University of Utah is searching for a Bioinformatics Data Analyst II for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. This role involves the analysis of sequencing data from tumors and circulating cells, aiming to generate new biological insights. The candidate will develop and apply algorithms to these datasets, contributing to cancer research and patient outcomes.In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:Analyze data from high throughput sequencing and microarray experimentsCreate, maintain, and document software for data analysis and managementAssist in the design of genomic experimentsInstruct lab personnel on analysis methods and toolsDevelop and maintain computational tools and infrastructure for interactive visualization and analysesThis role requires you to have:Bachelor's in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or Molecular BiologyFour years of experience in genomic data analysisProficiency in Java, Python, or C++Knowledge in molecular biology, genomics, and biostatisticsEffective communication and human relations skillsYou would benefit from having:Master's or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Life SciencesExperience with next-generation sequencing data analysisProficiency in R and knowledge of Unix/Linux environmentExperience with statistical methods for high-throughput datasetsExperience in cancer genetics researchStrong initiative and teamwork skillsThe University of Utah promotes equal opportunity and values diversity.
