Travel 25%-40% depending on level of relevant experience. The position joins the Risk Informed Services division of Jensen Hughes and will work with experienced professionals including probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) engineers on the Energy & Utilities team which provides premium nuclear safety and reliability consulting services. This is a dynamic, technically rewarding position that offers both a team and an independent work environment, including substantial onsite client interface.ResponsibilitiesThe consulting engineer's functions as part of a corporate risk management team that interfaces with multiple nuclear plant departments to implement the risk management (PRA) program. This includes providing technical consulting on a wide range of engineering and regulatory projects in addition to supporting day-to-day nuclear power plant operations. Specific work tasks include:Supporting Maintenance Rule implementationAdvising work planners on scheduling of maintenance activities to minimize riskMaintaining and updating configuration risk management (CRM) software modelsResponding to emergent plant risk management activities and risk-related issuesInterfacing with plant operations and other engineering departments on risk-related itemsDeveloping and maintaining risk-related documentation and training materialRequirements and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical engineering and at least 2+ years of experience in Navy nuclear or commercial nuclear power plants.
