Summary:

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for creating and implementing project and bid strategies. They will leverage their analytical skills to evaluate project proposals, historical cost data, and market trends to develop winning strategies that not only secure projects but also drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Project and Bid Strategy:

Develop comprehensive project and bid strategies that consider factors such as project scope, client expectations, and market competition. Participate in bid meetings.

Market Research:

Continuously monitor the construction market, identifying trends and opportunities that can inform bidding and pricing strategies.

Competitive Analysis:

Analyze competitors' bid strategies and pricing to ensure the organization remains competitive and offers value-added services.

Proposal Evaluation:

Thoroughly review project proposals, specifications, and client requirements to understand the nuances and challenges of each project.

Historical Cost Data:

Utilize historical cost data from previous projects to inform current estimates and to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Cost-Benefit Analysis:

Perform cost-benefit analyses for different project approaches, materials, and construction methods to identify the most cost-effective solutions.

Risk Assessment:

Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with each project and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Business Development:

Collaborate with business development teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities based on market insights and the organization's capabilities.

Client Relationship Building:

Foster positive relationships with existing and potential clients by providing valuable insights and demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to align project strategies with execution plans. Leads the development, training, and mentoring of team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management or a related field of study

Experience estimating Commercial construction projects.

Education and Experience:

Construction management or another relevant area bachelor's degree is necessary, or an equivalent mix of technical training and/or relevant experience.

Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Proficient with Estimating software like Timberline, Isqft, AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley, Navisworks, and Sketch-up Pro.

Ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Ability to predict building expenses efficiently and effectively.

Excellent communication skills both in writing and speaking.

Capable of working well both individually and with a team.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
