Located remotely, you will be responsible for selling our Fluid Power product line where you will be calling on Industrial Distributors, Industrial Consumers, and Original Equipment Manufacturing accounts within the state of Ohio . For this position Gates will provide you with everything you need for a home office, internet services and a company vehicle.* You'll use a consultative selling approach where you will need to be able to properly design, recommend, and apply products to meet the customers needs.* This is an exciting opportunity for you because you will be working with one of Gates biggest distributors.* You'll be responsible to research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner to meet their market strategies and goals for each product and service.* Your goal will be to strategize and analyze target market trends and prospect list to better target viable customers and provide efficient, on-demand support.* You will implement distribution strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets.**Key responsibilities (to name a few):*** Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments within defined target markets* Build and maintain relationship management with current and prospect customers* Maintain an effective communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for products* Make regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads* Develop and maintain long and short range sales and marketing plans* Maintain awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans* Monitor and communicate sales activity to contribute to product and service planning* Provide top-quality, Gates customer service for all clients and prospects* Implement distribution strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets* Monitor competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition**ABOUT YOU** Required:* 5+ years" of progressive sales experience* High school degree is required* Strong interpersonal and communication skills* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite* Must be willing to live in the territory. Relocation is not provided* Must be willing to travel up to 50-70% through your territory+ Territory is mainly between Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Akron/Canton and Youngstown.* Ability to drive long distances for extended periods of time* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.Preferred:* Bachelor's degree is preferred. Mechanical Engineering or a similar degree is a plus as well* Experience selling Fluid Power products - hoses, pumps, motors, relief valves* Experience selling to Industrial Distributors and/or experience working for an Industrial Distributor* Salesforce or experience with an CRM systemFounded in 1911 in Denver, Colorado, Gates is publicly traded on the NYSE.
