Located remotely within the designated territory, you will be in charge of selling Gates Power Transmission products throughout the greater Houston area and parts of western Louisianna.* Your goals will include meeting or exceeding an annual sales quota along with achieving specific strategic initiatives which align with higher level organizational goals.* You'll use a consultative selling approach, your technical expertise, and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with both distributors and end users towards these goals.* You will research customer needs and develop an understanding of their applications, then apply the proper Gates technologies to improve their overall cost of ownership and productivity.* You'll work in collaboration with an amazing group of individuals at Gates, across all business functions.**Key responsibilities (to name a few):*** Develop and execute growth strategies for both existing accounts as well as new prospective customers* Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments within our target markets* Timely and accurate utilization of our CRM systems.* Hunter mentality to prospect new business* Manager your own book of business* Communicate clearly and comfortably with all levels of our customer base from maintenance through engineering and the c-suite.* Provide top-quality, Gates customer service for all clients and prospects.* Monitor and communicate competitive activities to identify opportunities and/or countermeasures.**ABOUT YOU**Required:* 5+ years of industrial sales experience.* Must be a self-starter who is motivated to plan and manage customer needs.* Effective use of pre-call planning techniques and territory management.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Ability to host training classes to educate distributors and end-users on our product line.* Demonstrated ability in problem solving with special emphasis on closing the sale.* A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends and how they would apply to real world projects.* Proficient within the Microsoft Office Suite.* Travel required for this position is 60% - 80% weekly with limited overnight travel.* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.Preferred:* Bachelor's Degree* Experience selling Power Transmission products* Experience selling to Industrial Distributors and/or experience working for an Industrial Distributor* Experience with a CRM system, Oracle Sales Cloud is preferredPAY & BENEFITS* Full-Time* Relocation is not provided* Salary + Commission: Sales Incentive Plan (SIP)* Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire* Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days.
