Job Overview

Summary/ObjectiveThe Internet Manager responds to Internet-based customer inquiries and ensures that the dealership actualizes its maximum profit potential in accordance with dealership and Corporate established goals. The Internet Manager is also familiar with online best practices related to general website usage in the automotive industry.

Essential Functions

Meets all goals and objectives including, but not limited to, response time number of internet leads received, appointments set, and personal sales goalsChecks CRM frequently and responds to inquiries immediatelyEnsures messages unrelated to sales have been forwarded to the appropriate personnel for prompt attentionCoordinates internet promotions with other dealership sales promotions and other advertising mediumsEnsures that the web address is prominently displayed throughout the dealership, including but not limited to, business cards, email signatures, flyers and all other appropriate dealership advertising assetsKeeps current with online services and various 3rd Parties on the Internet to act as a liaison with any services the dealership uses to promote the dealership or advertise the dealership through the InternetWorks with website host and support team to ensure the website content is frequently updated to attract new and repeat visitorsEnsures that vehicle photos and videos reflect current inventoryCommunicates effectively with Internet customers and prospects according to their preferred method of communication, whether by phone, by email or text message (using approved methods)Maintains general knowledge of dealership products and services and conveys this information effectively to customersDirects customers to product information resources, including those available on the InternetUtilizes the CRM tool to assist in maintaining an ongoing customer database and to utilize features of the tool to capture repeat businessUnderstands the federal, state, and local laws that govern retail automobile sales and ensures that internet programs and online disclaimers are in complianceUtilizes reporting systems required by general management, the manufacturer and CorporateEnsures that the work areas are kept cleanFollows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherence to timekeeping standardsFollows the Company's Code of Business Ethics and ConductUnderstands and follows all work rules and procedures and follows lawful directions from supervisors or managementUpholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreementsMaintains a professional appearance for self and subordinates in accordance with company policyAttends pertinent training on requestAssists with organizing and attends special events held at dealership or in the communityAttends company meetings as requiredOther duties as assignedOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkWorks evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required.

Required Education and ExperienceAssociate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in retail automotive sales as well as online interactions and experience.
