The energy manager is responsible for identifying, reporting, and implementing energy-saving opportunities for Akelius properties and future acquisitions.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
analyze building utility consumption and cost data
evaluate building potential prior to acquisition
manage energy and water efficiency audits
recommend measures for reducing utility consumption
plan and implement measures with asset management and construction team
measure and verify savings from implemented measures
conduct trainings for construction and property staff
support the development of efficiency guidelines and standards
manage energy projects implementation
monitor energy focused incentives and rebates
submit energy focused incentives and rebates
assist in inspections of properties
complete various energy related reporting
perform other duties as assigned
who you are
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, and or building science
5+ years of relevant work experience
expert technical understanding of energy and water efficiency
LEED, WELL, or other building certifications preferred
experience with energy auditing and modelling
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent, is preferred
experience implementing efficiency measures in multifamily or commercial buildings
exposure to or experience with corporate sustainability initiatives and programs
proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including
