Work Performed:
The Energy Manager will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:
Partners with internal and external resources to manage utility data.
Leads the energy procurement and utility bill pay programs.
Ensures energy, water, and carbon footprint reporting services delivered by bill pay and/or sustainability platform vendor partners provide metrics and tools that meet or exceed expectations set forth by Atrium.
Creates and Publishes monthly reports on energy, water, & carbon footprint.
Tracks and report out on consumption, variance to annual reduction targets, cost against budget, and year over year costs.
Establishes annual energy, water, & waste reduction targets, identifies outliers and takes action to call attention to anomalies that occur.
Manages projects in accordance with approved budgets, timelines, and specifications.
Develops comprehensive water and energy efficiency assessments using qualified third-party partners;
Develops business case assessments and ROI analysis which will be used to determine project approvals;
Recommends ideas for more energy-efficient operations and other savings opportunities;
Administration of federal, state, and local rebates and grants;
Executes energy modeling, verification, measurement, commissioning, or retro-commissioning of existing assets; and
Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
Qualifications:
Required Prior Experience:
5+ years of experience in managing utilities and energy systems
Working knowledge of construction and engineering labor and material cost managing
Working knowledge of facilities regulations and safety standards (i.e., OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA)
Preferred Prior Experience:
5+ years of MEP, engineering, building technology, and/or facilities operations
Knowledge of renewable and on-site energy systems and ability to vet renewable generation business cases
Ability to create SOW and negotiate long and short-term agreements for bill pay, utility metrics tracking, sustainability consulting and auditing vendors
A fundamental understanding of a P&L statement
Hospitality experience
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Energy, Finance, Procurement, Architecture, Engineering, or other related field of study or Equivalent Work Experience
Preferred Licenses/ Certification:
CEM or similar designations
Required Technology:
Proficient in Microsoft Applications - OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Office 365, Outlook, Excel, and Power BI
Travel:
Up to 15%
Must be able to travel to a variety of locations
Physical:
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
Must be able to traverse areas under construction
Must be able to visually inspect construction sites, systems, and projects
Other:
Strong modeling and data analysis skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prepare reports, manage data, and analyze engineering proposals
Good knowledge of hotels buildings, systems, and operations specifically electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and general building practices
