The

Task Force Director of Finance

will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

-Fulfilling the Controller/Director of Finance/Area Controller/Area Director of Finance roles on a transitional basis for the properties to ensure compliance and maintain consistency in the areas of:

Financial Compliance and Asset Protection

: Uphold strict adherence to internal controls and standard The Task Force Director of Finance will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

Internal Control and Financial Oversight:

Develop robust internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance operational performance. Ensure rigorous management of revenues, expenses, and hotel assets, maintaining compliance with GAAP and the Uniform System of Accounts.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

Provide detailed financial analyses, including labor reviews, forecasts, and budgets, to the General Manager and department heads. Assist in creating and maintaining the annual budget, focusing on cost reduction and revenue enhancement. Manage forecasting of short-term revenues and expenses, overseeing the accounts payable process to meet financial targets.

Training and Team Management:

Conduct training on financial data interpretation and tool usage for department heads. Lead and mentor the Accounting Department staff, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to GAAP and USALI guidelines.

Strategic Financial Advising

: Advise hotel staff and management on the benefits of internal controls and efficient operations. Provide guidance on financial data interpretation and strategic decision-making to maximize profitability.

Payroll and Accounting Functions:

Oversee payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Manage credit card and cash transactions, resolving discrepancies promptly.

Risk Management and Compliance:

Conduct regular self-audits, developing action plans for improvement. Manage sales and use tax accruals, ensuring adherence to tax regulations. Monitor and adjust PCI compliance to minimize data breach risks.

Financial Processes and Month-End Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting processes and month-end tasks, ensuring timely revenue reporting and balance sheet reviews. Ensure all licenses and permits comply with local, state, and federal laws.

Cash Management and Internal Controls Audit:

Take charge of cash management, including monitoring cash activities and adhering to cash handling procedures. Establish and audit all financial controls related to purchasing, cash handling, inventories, and personnel records.

Additional Duties

: Perform other related tasks as necessary to support the hotel's financial objectives.​

Salary Range: 95k - 105k

What you will need for the role:

2+ years of management experience

3+ years of Financial Accounting experience

Strong knowledge of the accounts payable, income audit, and general ledger reconciliation functions

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Management or related discipline ; or equivalent experience

Knowledge of POS and PMS systems

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite

What will set you apart:

Hotel accounting, budgeting, and forecasting experience

Previous full-service hotel experience

Front desk experience

Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) or other industry/functional certificates

Working knowledge of POS and PMS systems

Birch Street, Concur, ProfitSage, Sage300, Workday

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
