Job Title : Histology TechnicianDuration : 1 yearShift: 6am to 2.30pm (M-FLocation: Fresno CA
Job Description:The HT(s)' care shall cover the range of routine an complex histological procedures. Technical disciplines include: preparing technically adequate slides of tissue sections by processing tissue blocks; embedding, cutting, staining, and cover slipping, performing needle biopsies, frozen section procedure, and assisting with autopsy procedures, including preparing the body for dissection.
Education: associate or bachelor's degree that includes a one-year clinical internship or complete a multi-year training program in a histopathology laboratory; Completing an accredited histology technician certificate program.License: Contract personnel must have a current Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist license, proof of current license must be provided prior to in-processing, and at the licensure renewal date. All continuing education courses required for maintaining license must be kept up to date.Training: (BLS, ACLS, CPRS, and VA MANDATORY
