Job Description
The Tax Analyst is a key member of General Accounting and Financial Reporting team here at Boston University. This position has the potential to work a hybrid schedule under the University's remote work guidelines.
Major duties of this position include:Support the preparation of Federal, state, and international tax filings through compiling and analyzing reports from our SAP accounting system.Assist in the preparation of Form 990 and 990-T which involves compilation and analysis of University data as well as information gathering from various departments.Help prepare work papers to support tax filings such as Excise Tax, Sales & Meals Tax and others.Assist in researching various Federal, state, and international tax issues.Support coordinating tax advisory and tax preparation services from outside parties as necessary.Develop and maintain working relationships with key departments such as the Investment Office and the Office of Global ProgramsPay Range: Minimum $50,400, Midpoint $68,100, Maximum $85,700. Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

Bachelors degree in accounting or related field3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably public accounting experienceStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practicesAdvanced skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, including complex formulas to acquire, organize, and analyze data.Ability to analyze data to determine relevant conclusions and suggest appropriate actions to management.Ability to prioritize tasks and ad-hoc requests to meet or exceed deadlines.Strong oral and written communication skillsDetail oriented, demonstrating accuracy and quality of work output.Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively in team environment.Self-motivated, proactive, intellectually curiousPreferred Skills:
