New York City (Hybrid)

Salary: $150,000 to $180,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience

Terrific Controller position with a $100+ million social and human services nonprofit in the New York City area. The Controller will be an integral member of the organization, with oversight of the accounting function. Responsibilities will include managing the closing process, AP/AR, payroll, audits, financial analysis, and financial statement preparation. The Controller will manage, mentor, and train a team of five accounting professionals. Candidates should have approximately 10+ years of related nonprofit finance and accounting experience, including time in a supervisory role. Bachelor's degree is required and a CPA is preferred. This position currently operates on a hybrid schedule with three days per week in office. The annual salary range is $150,000 to $180,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience.

Responsibilities:Oversee all accounting functions, including closing procedures (monthly, quarterly and annual), AP/AR, general ledger, and payrollDevelop and implement accounting procedures to ensure compliance and financial governanceMaintain general ledger and accounting systemsFollow GAAP procedures and guidelinesPrepare financial statements, including form 990Serve as the main point of contact for the annual auditAnalyze financial metricsManage and mentor a team of accounting professionalsQualifications:

Approximately 10+ years of relevant nonprofit accounting and finance experience, including time in a supervisory roleBachelor's degree requiredCPA licensure preferredExperience overseeing the accounting function for a larger organizationAbility to support and provide guidance to your teamComfortable working in a deadline-focused environmentTechnologically savvyAbility to collaborate cross-functionallyGovernment grants and/or CFR experience is a plus
