has been engaged by our client, one of North America's leading industrial distribution companies, on a Senior Tax Manager search.
The Senior Tax Manager position will primarily be responsible for financial reporting for income taxes, income tax compliance, tax basis of fixed asset reporting and income tax planning.
Responsibilities:• Prepare and Review Monthly and Annual U.S. Income Tax Provisions:
o Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual U.S. income tax provisions in accordance with GAAP, including deferred tax assets and liabilities.• Review of Income Tax Installments:
o Oversee and review the calculation of all income tax installments to ensure accuracy and compliance.• Cash Management and Refunds:
o Utilize annual budget and financial forecasts to minimize cash payments and expedite refunds where applicable.• Coordination of Compliance Processes:
o Coordinate information and compliance processes with various company subsidiaries and external service providers.• Review of U.S. Income and Franchise Tax Returns:
o Thoroughly review all U.S. income and franchise tax returns to ensure completeness and accuracy.• Monitoring Annual Report Filings:
o Monitor and ensure timely filing of all required annual reports.• Review of Tax Fixed Asset Calculations:
o Review calculations related to tax fixed assets for accuracy and compliance.• Standardized Policies and Procedures:
o Identify and recommend standardized policies and procedures to streamline and enhance the efficiency of tax preparation processes.• Review Annual Returns for Foreign Affiliates:
o Review and ensure accuracy of annual tax returns for foreign affiliates.• Tax Audits and Correspondence:
o Manage all tax audits effectively, including responding to tax notices and related correspondence in a timely manner.
Skills and Qualifications:4+ years of experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA or MST preferredWorking knowledge of state and local tax, including incentives for doing business in specific states, counties and cities.Thorough understanding of the financial statement audit function and financial reporting related to income taxes.Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Experience working with treasury and legal departments on tax matters.Key Competencies:
