SUMMARY
The Director of Group Sales is responsible for strategizing and implementing a successful business plan to target both corporate and social group clients for La Jolla Shores Hotel and La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in order to meet and/or exceed group revenue goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Achieve and exceed total group budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually.Analyze and estimate total value of each piece of corporate / social group business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service.Utilize Ideas to analyze all groupsUse Knowland Group platform to uncover new and potential business.Plan and executive travel and tradeshow scheduleCollaborate with Teneo and SDTA on leads, FAMs, and sales callsRegularly entertain clients at on property and while travelingProfessionally represent the property and hotels in community and industry organizations and events.Collaborate, communicate and participate as a team player with fellow managers.Be a leader and role model to all team members.Ensure all pertinent information regarding group is logged on to call sheets and into sales files.Call on existing accounts and solicit new accounts through sales calls and emailsTravel to/from and attend Trade Shows and represent LJBTC Inc at industry-related events as requiredWork with Group Rooms Coordinator to ensure rooming lists are received on time and entered.Monitor group pick up and manage attrition and addendums as neededWrite Sales contracts and follow up on return of contracts and deposits.Meet guests for site inspections, meeting with guests upon arrival and departure and provide knowledgeable information about the propertiesManage a smooth turn over to Conference Service ManagerAble to handle multiple tasks.Send professional correspondence to guestsCoordinate VIP amenity deliveriesDevelop and maintain positive rapport with group contacts/meeting plannersManage group inventory by ensuring all groups are cleaned up at cutoff.Demonstrate self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.Organize and maintain group room files and forward group sales related documents to other departments as required in a timely manner.Complete any reasonable request from your supervisor.Conduct research on key account room night/revenue performance at competitive-setPlan and execute sales presentationsConsistently present a polished, professional image representing all La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club entitiesWill be self-motivated, team-oriented, ambitious and driven for sales successAdditional duties as necessary and assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school or equivalent education required; Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred;
Five years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Must possess computational ability and financial acumen. Knowledge of computer accounting programs, as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required. Ability to calculate figures and amounts including but not limited to discounts, interest, commissions and percentages. Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Group Sales platform.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand.
In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the amount of hours that you work to get the job done.
