Schedule:

This is a full time, salaried position. Flexible schedule.

Rate:

$85,000 - $95,000 annualized salary, dependent on experience.

SUMMARY

The Sr. Sales Manager is responsible for securing group business for La Jolla Shores Hotel, La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, and The Marine Room in order to meet and/or exceed group revenue goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Achieve and exceed total group budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually.

Analyze and estimate total value of each piece of corporate/social group business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service.

Utilize Ideas to analyze all groups.

Use Knowland Group platform to uncover new and potential business.

Plan and execute travel and tradeshow schedule.

Collaborate with Teneo and SDTA on leads, FAMs, and sales calls.

Regularly entertain clients on property and while traveling.

Professionally represent the property and hotels in community and industry organizations and events.

Collaborate, communicate and participate as a team player with fellow managers.

Be a leader and role model to all team members.

Ensure all pertinent information regarding group is logged into Ivvy.

Call on existing accounts and solicit new accounts through sales calls and emails.

Travel to/from and attend trade shows and be a representative at industry-related events as required.

Write sales contracts and follow up on return of contracts and deposits.

Conduct site inspections.

Manage a smooth turnover to Conference Service Manager.

Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.

Complete any reasonable request from your supervisor.

Consistently present a polished, professional image representing all La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club entities.

Will be self-motivated, team-oriented, ambitious, and driven for sales success.

Additional duties as necessary and assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school or equivalent education required; Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; Five years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must possess computational ability and financial acumen. Knowledge of computer accounting programs, as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required. Ability to calculate figures and amounts including but not limited to discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Ivvy, Ideas.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

INTERACTION:

This position requires constant interaction with various people including: guests, clients, revenue and reservations managers, catering staff and front office managers. This position also frequently interacts with reservations and front desk staff and has occasional interaction with all other departments.

SCHEDULING:

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand.

In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the amount of hours that you work to get the job done.
