A recognized hedge fund in New York City is actively seeking an experienced professional to join their staff as their new Assistant Controller. In this role, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for playing a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the hedge fund.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Controller will: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Analyze fund performance, investment returns, and portfolio metrics Assist in the preparation of investor reports and presentations Oversee daily fund accounting activities, including reconciliations, NAV calculations, and expense accruals Collaborate with external service providers (fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors) to ensure accurate and timely reporting Monitor fund expenses and fee calculations Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including SEC requirements Assist in preparing regulatory filings and responding to inquiries Maintain documentation related to compliance policies and procedures Identify areas for process optimization and automation Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications:
5+ years of Accounting experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Previous experience in Hedge Fund Accounting and/or Private Equity Fund Accounting
