Human Resources Analyst

Arkansas State University Mid-South seeks an experienced Human Resources (HR) Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be dynamic, customer service driven, and efficient with an eye for detail. The Human Resources Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing human resources objectives, policies, and procedures and, oftentimes, is the first point of contact for the HR Department and ASU Mid-South.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesConducts and coordinates new employee orientation programs as needed; reviews the employee handbook, policies and procedures for new hires.Delivers new hire contracts and Letters of Appointment promptly.Leads process of contracts with adjuncts for each term and letters of appointment annually or as directed.Presents benefits package information to new hires. Reviews new hire paperwork for payroll processes and other new employee onboarding processes.Accurately and timely enrolls new employees in appropriate benefit plans per individual's request to include payroll deduction setup. Ensure benefit applications are complete and forwarded to the proper plan, and records are maintained.Monthly reconciles statements from benefit plan with Payroll and Finance offices.Provide assistance with questions regarding benefit programs-medical, dental, retirement, cafeteria plans, providing payroll and external agencies with updates.Manage annual employee compliance training utilizing institution compliance vendor.Monitor and evaluate HR programs to ensure compliance with all state and system policies, procedures, and services.Review the exit process with each individual who resigns or leaves employment.Assist in collecting all HR and payroll forms, scanning and accurately indexing in a timely manner, and providing ready access upon request.Process all employment application packets and prepare for distribution to hiring managers, record activity, and respond appropriately to applicants.Gather and prepare report information for federal, regional, and state reports as requested throughout the year.Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills & AbilitiesPreference is given to individuals with knowledge and experience with Banner, as it relates to human resources processes; knowledge of financial and accounting principles for reconciliation of benefit programs; knowledge of organizational management, payroll, and benefits processes is essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Word, and the ability to work with others in a professional and courteous manner is required.
EducationAn Associate's degree in Human Resources or Business related field is preferred, but years of work experience in the human resources or related field may be considered.
SalaryThis is a full-time 12-month staff position with a salary of $37,000 depending on experience and a complete employee benefits package, including insurance, tuition waivers, and a retirement plan.
