Position Overview:

The Sr. Brand Manager, Champagne/Luxury is a cross-functional, centralized position that serves as a critical strategic link between our leading global Champagne supplier, Brand Excellence Department and sales network. The position is responsible for all aspects of superior brand performance.

The Sr. Brand Manager, Champagne/Luxury will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and continuous growth of the Champagne portfolio and demands a deep understanding of and proven success within brand/portfolio management in the luxury beverage market, alongside category specific expertise and exceptional leadership skills.

The role will work seamlessly with our marketing and sales teams to ensure excellence in execution, driving increased market share, enhanced brand presence and lock-step collaboration with our industry partners.

The role requires strong negotiation skills and interpersonal dexterity to manage portfolio and brand performance throughout the value chain and reports to the Sr. Director Brand Management.

This position requires extensive US travel.

Port Washington, NY and/or New York, New York(Hybrid 3 days in office)

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy to drive growth and achieve business objectives for the Champagne portfolio with a clear view on immediate, medium, and long-term goals.

Manage the brand budget, lead optimal allocation of resources to maximize performance and ROI ensuring all targets are achieved, evaluated and optimized.

Conduct continuous market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Work with sales and distribution teams to develop, implement, execute, and evaluate programming initiatives, sales activities, and trade marketing solutions that surpass brand objectives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with producer partners, as well as all internal and external stakeholders, critical for operational success.

Work with internal teams to contribute to and implement marketing plans and PR strategies

Obsessively monitor brand performance, providing regular updates to senior management with intelligently supported executive summaries and clear corrective actions

Prepare change-making, action-oriented business reviews with suppliers, sales, and distributor networks.

Work alongside internal and external operational resources to forecast and manage inventory levels efficiently to meet projected market demand.

Collaborate with pricing department to ensure effective price positioning and sales resources.

Deliver sales support for Champagne supplier by directly conducting blitz activity across US with strategic, properly planned visits to key markets.

Educational Qualifications & Experiences:

Bachelor of Business Administration in finance, marketing, or related field and 5-7 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry – compelling direct Champagne experience required. MBA preferred.

French language proficiency a distinct advantage.

A working knowledge of the wine industry in relation to the import function strongly preferred.

A clear understanding of the three-tier system and the regulated nature of the industry with a focus on legal compliance strongly preferred.

The ability to influence others without authority both internally and externally is critical to success in this position.

Effective communication, collaboration, and follow through with key stakeholders (management team, sales team, marketing team, supplier team, pricing team, logistics team, customers, etc.)

Completion of projects/tasks assigned on time and delivery of full scope assigned.

Proven strong interpersonal skills, working across functional areas in a fast-paced business environment.

Facilitate knowledge and process sharing across the organization.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workload, while keeping in check quality and time constraints.

Ability to develop and interpret reports evaluating the performance of business functions and initiatives.

Support the company’s leadership with needed information regarding the state of the business to facilitate decision-making.

Experience with business process development and continuous improvement in the managing of day-to-day business.

A sense of positive urgency in executing everyday responsibilities.

A fluent knowledge of MS Office and end user enterprise planning systems such as Cognos and SharePoint.
