My client, a progressive chemical manufacturing company in Houston is seeking a Category Lead to oversee the petrochemicals category and the sourcing team for the Americas.
Responsibilities:
Manage the regional category team by mentoring, coaching and enhancing their skillsWith the category team, oversee the petrochemical spend for the AmericasWork cross-functionally with other business unitsLead vendor selection, maintain vendor relationshipsCreate and implement sourcing strategiesLead negotiations and help create and manage contractsConduct market research and ensure competitive pricing with supply partners
The ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s degree is preferred and MBA preferred8+ years of experience sourcing chemicals (ideally petrochemicals)Knowledge of petrochemicals and olefins is strongly preferredProven leadership abilitiesExperience with risk management
