Process Line Operator tends equipment that chemically cleans oil, grease, dirt, and other foreign matter from parts/metal objects.

Removes oil, grease, dirt, and mil markings from materialLoads objects in baskets on conveyor that carries them through series of chemical and rinsing baths, or places objects on racks or in containers and immerses objects in chemical and rinsing solutionsMoves control to start conveyor and to regulate conveyor speedMaintains consistency of cleaning solutions by adding specified amount of chemical to solutionsDrains, cleans, and refills tanks with chemicals.Dries objectsExamines cleaned objects to ensure conformance to standardsResponsible for the proper storage of hazardous wastes within the process line department and collection of hazardous wastes from other departments, including transportation to the hazardous waste storage shedResponsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work areaAccurately records required information in customer required log booksOther duties as assignedSkills & Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylarsAbility to operate a forklift and overhead craneMust be able to comply with specific safety policiesRead and understand internal procedures and policiesUnderstand and follow through on both verbal, written instructions and communicate effectivelyTeam oriented with a continuous improvement outlookBasic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistanceRequired Experience/Education/Training/Certifications

High School Diploma; up to 3 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experienceMath Skills - decimals, percentages, fractions, ratios, proportions; geometry and trigonometry is a plusBasic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistanceWork Environment and Safety Equipment Required

Responsible for the proper storage of hazardous wastes within the process line department and collection of hazardous wastes from other departments, including transportation to the hazardous waste storage shedKnowledge of policy and procedures in the event of a hazardous waste release, fire or explosionKnowledge of the chemical characteristics and location of hazardous waste in the facilitySpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusAnnual pulmonary test is requiredRegularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and armsFrequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouchMust be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsWorking conditions are:100% manufacturing environmentRegularly required to work near moving mechanical partsFrequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicalsOccasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heatNoise level is usually moderateFace shield must be worn when operating process lineSafety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areasHearing protection must be worn in designated areasSafety Footwear shall be in accordance with the following: ASTM standard F2413-05 with minimum impact resistance, compression resistance and metatarsal designation ratings of 75 foot pounds (i.e. ASTM F2413-05 I/75 C/75 Mt/75), which are viewable on the inside tag of footwear
