NDT Penetrant Inspector
NDT Penetrant Inspector evaluates manufactured parts for minor surface cracks and indications of surface imperfections or defects by use of Liquid Penetrant inspection

Sprays, brushes, or dips part in liquid penetrantAllows penetrant to dwell on parts for specified period of timePerforms penetrant final rinse with water sprayPlaces parts in development tank for allotted timeEvaluates parts under UV light to detect minor surface cracks and/or indications of surface imperfections or defects under the supervision of a NDT level 2 or 3Performs post penetrant cleaning of parts before forwarding on to next process/departmentAccurately records required information in customer required log booksResponsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work areaMust be willing and able to work overtime as necessaryAcceptable attendance is an essential function of the positionPerforms other duties as assigned or required by the positionSkills & Qualifications
Required Skills &Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.Six to Twelve months related experience and/or training preferred.Requires Level II training certification to work independently.Ability to read and interpret customer specifications/drawings/prints/etcRequiredExperience/Education/Training/Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent requiredThree to six months related experience and/or training preferredRequires level II training certification to work independentlyAbility to use measuring instruments including but not limited to dial calipers, dial micrometers, and light meterAwareness of calibration certification of equipmentMust be able to comply with specific safety policies of the location and areaRead and understand internal procedures and policiesUnderstand and follow through on both verbal and written instructionsTeam oriented with a continuous improvement outlookBasic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistanceSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusAnnual eye exam is requiredRegularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and armsMust be able to communicate effectivelyAnnual baseline hearing test is requiredFrequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouchMust be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsAnnual eye exam is requiredBasic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistanceWork Environment and Safety EquipmentRequired
Working conditions are:100% manufacturing environment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and airborne particles.Noise level is usually moderate.Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.Hearing protection must be worn in designated areas.Fully enclosed shoes of solid, leather construction with a steel or composite toe cap (ANSI Z41 compliant) must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
