to join our procurement team at our

Alpharetta, GA .

Reporting into the Sr. Director of Procurement , this position is responsible for execution of established procurement strategies to support our organization with procuring high-quality, cost-effective raw materials and services.

Commodity Manager Job Responsibilities:

Facilitate and streamline a procurement strategy for direct raw material commodities ($250 MM total spend)Participate in streamline of purchasing strategy for indirect spend categories ($100 MM total spend)Participate in Energy related buying decisionsParticipate in business needs assessment to set business purchasing strategyCapital – involvement in the Capital procurement process to support plant specific capital (IR) projectsSeek opportunities for consolidation across the company with national suppliers’ standardization where possible in order to obtain materials at the lowest cost with considerations of safety, quality, and sustainability, reliability of source and urgency of needReduce supply risk ensuring we have back-up suppliers for indirect categories and other categories of critical spendDraft and negotiate agreements with suppliers including but not limited to: terms and conditions, pricing, escalation clauses (price reduction clauses), warranty, performance expectations, total cost of ownership, delivery performance, rebates, vendor-managed inventory, etc.Resolve supplier issues relating to quality, delivery and pricingIdentify cost savings projectsSolicit “Request for Quotes” from suppliers this includes interviewing suppliers, recommending sources of supply, requesting and analyzing quotations from multiple suppliers, preparing recommendations as a result of these quotesCommodity Manager Job Qualifications:

B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, or equivalent degree required5+ years of Procurement or equivalent experienceSolid knowledge of purchasing profession and chemical industry. Strong knowledge of contract design. Understanding of marketplace relating to goods and services purchased. General understanding of business issues and financial principlesProficient negotiation skillset (Honest, fact based, partnership oriented)Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)Any experience/exposure to any ERP/MRP system is a plus (JD Edwards preferred)Ability to plan and prioritize a wide variety of activitiesProject management skillsStrong communication skills (verbally and written)
