About the job Lamination Technician Position Summary: Responsible for performing all tasks involved in the fabrication of the companys composite parts. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prep and maintain tools in accordance with specified guidelines and proceduresAccurately follow work instructionsPerform Composite layup such as: Carbon Pre-Preg, Carbon Fibers, Kevlar layup, Fiberglass and Hand LayupTrim excess materials from molds, using hand shears or trimming knivesPerform part build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets, and voidsCheck completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by checking them visuallyUnderstands & completes internal & customer required layup documents.Records information on appropriate production records, logs and other report formsPerforms re-work as requiredCleans and reseals tools using the appropriate release systemsBe aware of FOD & Tool control at all timesContinuously demonstrate 5S ApplicationAdheres to the highest practicable safety and housekeeping standards.Repairs defective products rejected by inspection or test personnelRequired participation in internal training as needed to perform the duties assigned to this roleOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)U.S. Person status required do to export controlHigh School Diploma or GED preferred1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferredComposite experience highly preferredStrong organizational skillsStrong attention to detail and craftsmanshipMust be able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in EnglishCapable of doing simple mathematical calculationsFamiliar with a variety of hand tools and measuring instrumentsAbility to communicate effectively with coworkers and the management teamMust be well organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentMust thrive in a team-oriented and deadline-driven environmentFamiliarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprintsAbility to communicate effectively with co-workers and the management teamPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
