JOB OVERVIEW

The Event Sales Manager oversees, supports and cultivates prospective and future venue rental and event planning for prospective and future clients. This position is the first point-of-contact for potential clients/vendors and provides general administrative support related to venue sales and events. This position reports directly to the Director, Venue Operations + Events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / KEY JOB OUTCOMES

Respond to general inquiries and provide specific information about park venues to prospective and current clients, including availability, features, restrictions, and contract termsFacilitate tours of each venue to prospective clients and provide thorough follow up to close event salesManage and maintain accuracy of the events calendar to alleviate scheduling conflicts and review events calendar with Venue Manager on a weekly basisOversee the planning and logistical needs related to the production of events including, attending site visits with clients and caterers as neededWorks closely with Finance team to maintain and update client event files including Invoicing clients according to contract terms and monitoring accounts receivable and recording weekly rental deposit reportsPartner with with the Marketing team to analyze metrics and statistical data that outlines the progress of the rentals department; Provide schedules of clients to Marketing and Development departments monthlyPlan and execute Venue Open House events throughout the year, including contracting vendors, setting up and breaking the space down, and promoting the open house event to potential clientsAttend various industry events and develop relationships with industry insiders; work with Director to brainstorm additional types of rental clients to do outreach toDevelop marketing and promotional strategies through a targeted focus client approach to cultivate awareness of potential clientsCollect and maintain required documents from caterers, including licenses and certificates of insuranceSupervise and oversee the Seasonal/Per diem administrative support staff, as neededPerforms other job-related duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

(4-7) years work experience in Event Sales and Planning, Hospitality Management, Business Development Operations or other relevant experienceAssociates or Bachelor's degree a plus but not requiredA valid NYS Driver's LicenseCOMPETENCIES

Job Grade: 5 (Specialist + Project Managers)Salary: $65,000Work Hours: 35-40 hours per week, minimumFLSA Status: Exempt- The Alliance offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
