Game Day Staff Overview

We are looking for great team members to join our Game Day Staff! This is a Part-Time position focused on executing all things "Condors" on game and event nights, from Merchandise, to Ice Crew, to Promotions Team, Mascot Support, and much more.

Available Positions:

Merchandise Associates:

Merchandise Associates will act as a salesperson for the Bakersfield Condors during home games. They will be responsible for selling retail items to Condors fans, ringing up purchases on Clover POS machines, stocking, and organizing merchandise inventory. Individuals working the merchandise booth should be able to help increase sales volume and have the ability to stimulate interest and entice customers to make a purchase. Core Responsibilities and Duties:

Actively engage with fans on the concourse and promote the Bakersfield Condors brand and merchandiseHandle monetary transactionsMaintain retail presentation standards and restock merchandise items as neededPresent excellent sales service to ensure customer satisfactionProvide assistance and information about productsPerform other duties as assigned by the Game Day Manager and Merchandising ManagerJob Requirements:

Additional hours for set up and tear down of concourse merchandise stands pre-game and post-gameCapable of lifting and moving productsAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers, subordinates, and fans in a professional mannerAble to make quick and effective decisionsAble to complete basic math calculations when filling out merchandise inventory information or dealing with customer transactionsCapable of handling multiple tasks simultaneouslyAble to handle minor complaints and suggestions from our guests in a calm and professional mannerAble to learn and operate a cash register and credit card machine quickly and efficiently at the same time as interacting with customers

Ice Crew:

The Bakersfield Condors are looking for motivated individuals that will serve as the Ice Crew for the Bakersfield Condors during all home games this season (including playoffs). Ice Crew team members will be a part of a professional, high energy ice maintenance and interactive team. Team members are expected to be outgoing and experienced skaters who are interested in ice maintenance. Core Responsibilities and Duties:

Members in the group are responsible for skating on to the ice to remove snow and ice build-up during media timeouts.Work with the promotional team at main arena entrances to hand out fan giveaways as needed.Assist with game operations as assigned by Game Operations Manager and Creative Services DirectorAssist in the execution of in-game promotions including, but not limited to: t-shirt tosses, game ceremonies and intermission contests.Following the end of the game, members of the Ice Crew will be required to inventory and remove all Game Time Magazine's from the Arena.Perform other duties as assigned by Game Day Manager or Game Operations Manager.Assist with arena clear outs on certain nightsJob Requirements:

Experience working in an ice rink setting and comfortable in front of large crowds.Proficient ice-skaterCandidates will possess an outgoing personality, high energy, positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, professionalism, poise, strong communication abilities, strong work ethic and reliability.Ice Crew team members will need to have a flexible schedule and the ability to work various shifts, nights, weekends and holidays that allows for 95% availability for Bakersfield Condors 2024-2025 home games, arriving at least 1.5 hours before puck drop and staying through the end of the gameMust have the ability to stand or sit in one location for a minimum of four hours at a time

Condors Promotions Team:

The Condors Promotions Team displays the ultimate Bakersfield Condors spirit and is responsible for getting Condors fans energized, excited, and entertained at each home game and select events throughout the community. Promo Team members play an integral role in the Condors fan experience by greeting each fan with enthusiasm, hosting on-ice contests, throwing t-shirts/promo items, handing out prize coupons, assisting in sponsored aspects of the game, and representing the organization at the highest level. Additional opportunities for Condors Promotions team to work outside of home games include: pocket schedule deliveries to businesses, community appearances, and select Condors special events. Job Requirements

Experience working in a face to face or customer service role preferredAbility to greet fans with the highest level of enthusiasm and energyMust be comfortable approaching fans and engaging in conversation, especially when finding intermission contestantsMust be comfortable in front of large crowds and in one-on-one settings interacting with fans and providing exceptional customer serviceAbility to participate in on-ice activitiesAbility to closely follow a promotions scriptMust be available for all Condors home games of the 2024/2025 season

Mascot Bodyguards:

The Bakersfield Condors are looking for individuals that will serve as the personal security for our mascots. Bodyguards will travel around the arena with the mascot and escort them to promotions at designated times. A bodyguard should have a good professional attitude and situational awareness. Core Responsibilities and Duties:

Escort mascot around the arenaProtect the costume and person from harmful actsAssure that mascot appears to promotions on timeTime management pre-game and in-game mascot appearancesBe assertive and outgoing

Chuck A Puck:

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

Sell foam pucks during the first two periodsPart of on-ice promotional team during intermissionAssist in the clean-up of Chuck-A-Puck's during the intermissionHandle cash transactionsAssist with arena clear outs on certain nights

Kids Zone:

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

Supervise children in Kids Club areaPrevent problems and resolve conflicts as neededShare information with fans about the Kids Club and what it includesHandle cash transactions when Kids Club Memberships are purchasedAssist with arena clear outs on certain nights

Compensation:

This role is budgeted at $16.00/hour.
