Renewables Attorney

A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a highly qualified Renewables Attorney to join their team. This attorney will deliver expert legal counsel on a broad range of renewable energy projects, with a primary focus on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cells, as well as a deep understanding of smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency. Exceptional client service, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication are essential. Candidates must have a JD degree, be an active member in good standing of the Bar, and possess a portable book of business.Key Responsibilities:Provide specialized legal advice on renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.Draft, negotiate, and manage power purchase agreements, facility operation agreements, and related contracts.Offer strategic guidance on regulatory compliance, operational issues, and industry best practices.Advise clients on smart grid technology, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency measures.Conduct detailed legal research and analysis on current and emerging trends in renewable energy.Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to resolve legal issues and ensure project success.Manage and address legal disputes and challenges related to renewable energy projects.Build and maintain a portable book of business, showcasing a strong client base within the renewable energy sector.Requirements:JD degree from an accredited law school.Active member in good standing of the Bar.At least 10 years of experience in renewable energy law.Demonstrated track record of a portable book of business.Extensive knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell technologies.Familiarity with smart grid technology, energy storage solutions, and energy efficiency practices.Skills:Expertise in legal aspects of renewable energy projects.Strong skills in negotiation, drafting, and communication.Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.High level of commitment to client service and satisfaction.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with smart grid technology and energy storage systems.Knowledge of demand-side management practices and technologies.Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and provide strategic legal advice.
