Human Resources, Legal / Compliance, OtherJob DescriptionReporting to the Director for Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention, the Assistant Director for Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention serves as a critical member of a team helping to advance a coordinated and unified vision for sexual and gender-based violence prevention at Virginia Tech. The assistant director will work as part of the leadership team in the newly created sexual and gender-based prevention unit to advance a campus culture free from sexual and gender-based violence in which all members of our community share responsibility and accountability for sustaining this campus culture.Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in public health, health education, social work, counseling, student affairs or related field or education and experience that equates to an advanced degree.Experience developing, facilitating, presenting, and evaluating prevention based educational workshops and training.Knowledge of and commitment to intersectional women’s and gender issues including gender/power-based violence, equity, diversity and social justice.Knowledge of public health theories and practices specifically related to sex and gender-based violence.Demonstrated commitment to addressing social justice and diversity issues.Experience presenting and preparing educational programs for diverse audiences in a complex institutional setting.Excellent administrative skills including the ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead work groups to successful completion of projects and tasks.Preferred QualificationsExperience providing sexual and gender-based prevention efforts in a complex, decentralized university setting.Experience with campus wide education and strategic plan implementation.Knowledge of relevant federal laws including Title IX, VAWA, and Clery Act.Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion, sensitivity and neutrality.Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office.Appointment Type : RegularSalary Information : Commensurate with experience with a salary range of $60,000 to $65,000 per year.Review Date : August 26, 2024Additional Information : The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.About Virginia Tech : Dedicated to its motto,
