Leading companies trust Oracle to run their critical business functions.What You Will DoThe SaaS Continuity Engineering team is responsible for the design and build of the systems and services that enable Oracle to deliver industry-leading availability and performance objectives for Oracle’s SaaS services. The team architects and develops high-availability and service continuity solutions across the entire stack – infrastructure, database, platform, and application services – and all the dependent components. We are building the next-gen service continuity solutions in a fast-paced and innovative environment and looking for a senior database architect who can design and architect solutions to operate Oracle Database at scale with maximum availability and performance.As a Senior Database Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring that the database services for our SaaS services are designed and built with the highest level of availability, performance, and resiliency. You will collaborate with other engineering teams responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing SaaS Services and the underlying database platform in a distributed cloud environment. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and must have a deep understanding of Oracle Database and Exadata technology operating at a large-scale deployment.ResponsibilitiesDrive the technical architecture of our service continuity solutions.Contribute to the product strategy and development of next-generation availability and resiliency features for Oracle’s SaaS cloud environment.Required QualificationsBS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.6+ years experience as an architect for large Oracle Database and Exadata deployments.Strong experience with cloud infrastructure and networking technology.Extensive experience in Oracle Database, Exadata, Grid Infrastructure, ASM & RAC.Experience in Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture & Best Practices for Oracle Database & Exadata.Experience in high availability & replication technologies (Dataguard, Goldengate).Advanced scripting/coding skills (Shell, Perl, and Python).Experience in building highly available and fault-tolerant services.Experience with production operations and troubleshooting complex issues.Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations).Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment.Preferred QualificationsHands-on experience developing and operating services on a public cloud platform (Examples: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle).Extensive experience with Oracle Database and Exadata.Understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms.Experience and understanding of cloud infrastructure services, regions, and multi-AD designs.Good executive communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.Disclaimer:Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only.US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum.
