Arnold & Porter’s Talent Department is looking for a Legal Personnel Coordinator for their Washington, DC office. This position is integral to the Talent team, focusing on coordinating critical attorney talent initiatives for attorneys firm wide.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Supporting the associate and staff attorney bonus and compensation programs.Providing administrative support to the attorney departure process, including coordinating attorney exit interviews and reporting on trends.Preparing documentation to effectuate changes in attorney statuses (including, e.g., arrivals, departures, leaves of absence, and adjustments to compensation).Coordinating and maintaining paperwork and undertaking related data entry for new and lateral associate and staff attorney hires (including, e.g., arrival notices, personnel files, payroll authorization forms).Supporting the attorney bar admission process, including preparation of employment affidavits, and tracking bar admission status firmwide.Maintaining and auditing Legal Personnel data and personnel files, including bar and court admissions, education records, personnel history, etc.Tracking attorney leaves of absence, secondments, clerkships, etc., including preparation of weekly reports to the Talent Development directors and managers.Liaising with and responding promptly to requests for attorney data and analysis for internal and external purposes.Preparing, auditing, and submitting master ABA and DC Bar bills annually.Supporting the Legal Personnel budget and expense management processes through monthly audits of budget variances, preparation, and review of attorney expense reimbursements and invoices, charitable contributions, and attorney matching donations.Preparing DC Wage Forms annually for DC-based attorneys.

Qualifications:Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.A minimum of one (1) year of administrative support experience, ideally in a professional services, corporate, or law firm environment.Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Experience working with viDesktop platform a plus.Ability to work well with all levels of firm personnel, establish effective working relationships throughout the firm and react to challenging situations appropriately.Ability to respect, protect, and maintain confidential and sensitive information.Must be creative, flexible, adaptable to change and results oriented.Excellent administrative and strong problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.Possess reliability, dependability, and motivation.Excellent organization and communications skills, both oral and written.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting solid attention to detail is paramount.Exceptional client service, both internal and external.Flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $60,680 to $72,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
