Position Summary:As a member of the

Demand Estimation Engine Applied AI team , your

primary role

will be to

develop and enhance demand forecasting models

that leverage advanced AI techniques. These models are crucial to various aspects of our Walmart business operations, including

e-commerce and store networks . Your work will directly influence

inventory placement, store replenishment strategies , and other critical components of our supply chain. The

ideal candidate

is a data-driven problem solver with a strong background in AI and machine learning, who can translate complex data into actionable business strategies. Applied AI team is seeking a full stack

Staff Data Scientist

with expertise in

Advanced Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Machine Learning Engineering

to drive the ML system and roadmap to enhance Walmart's Demand Estimation Engine. As a

Tech Lead , this role is expected to bring experience in Data Science e-commerce, demand estimation and forecasting. You will play a crucial role in end-to-end AI product development and deployment, mentoring and coaching other data scientists, and communicating with the product and engineering team.What you'll bring:Master's degree in computer science, Statistics, Optimization, or related field + 7 years' experience

in a machine learning/deep learning/machine learning engineering related field OR

PhD with minimum of 3+ years of industry experience.Technical expertise

in

machine learning, deep learning, statistical analysis, machine learning engineering and software development.Proficient in

data mining, machine learning, and deep learning packages

in

Python/Pytorch/Keras.Experience working with

large data sets and cloud computing (Hive, Spark, PySpark, GCP, or Azure).Proficient in

coding SQL, Python, Java, or JavaScript.A proven track record of leading innovation such as

Medium Blog, patents, or conference presentations

is a plus.Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.Good communication skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical associates.Experience providing technical and architectural guidance in a technical lead or architect role.Minimum Qualifications:Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.
