The Role

Bitly is at a pivotal stage of growth as we advance our sales and product-led sales (PLS) motions. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to join our dynamic Sales team. As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be part of one of the most important parts of the Sales process at Bitly: creating a vision of success and optimized outcomes for customers. As part of the job, you’ll leverage data and a consultative approach to proactively outbound prospect into key organizations, uncovering critical business needs, and presenting them with advanced Bitly solutions to generate pipeline for our Sales team. You’ll be speaking with executives from global Fortune 1000 companies and should be energized by initiating conversations with key decision-makers and power users, building knowledge-based product value from industry insights and usage trends, and cultivating pipeline for our team.

This role owns a process that is crucial to Bitly’s business, delivering a seamless bridge between our prospects, vast existing user base, and our Sales team. You’ll become an expert in all things Bitly, contributing to the growth and scale of our paid customer base globally.

What You'll Do

Generate new business by prospecting outbound leads through cold outreach

Use outbound selling best practices to identify customer pain points while driving the value of our product

Manage and qualify global leads (via phone, email, SMS, and other creative selling techniques) with the goal of pipeline generation

Leverage data, playbooks, and tools such as LinkedIn Navigator to research and identify prospective accounts for outbound efforts

Conduct consultative meetings, asking open-ended questions that uncover prospect’s pain points and business needs

Effectively convey the value of Bitly through pitching with passion

Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections, proposing relevant solutions that fulfill prospect’s needs

Collaborate with the wider sales and customer success teams to convert your prospects into sales-accepted opportunities and future customers

Generate a healthy pipeline and maintain all stages of the pre-sales lead pipeline in Salesforce and Salesloft

Consistently achieve and exceed activity, pipeline generation, and opportunity conversion quotas

Ensure an excellent customer journey for our prospective customers, from inquiry to meeting with an Account Executive

Become a trusted resource, developing superior relationships with both prospects and internal stakeholders

Who You Are

2-3 years SaaS experience in a customer-facing role, ideally new client development, customer acquisition, or customer conversion

Strong track record of quota attainment and outstanding performance in a customer focused environment

Highly self motivated and detail oriented individual with a positive attitude and strong passion to work in customer facing role

Experience in a high energy, Sales environment that required phone/email/SMS outreach and analyzed performance by measured results. Bonus if experience in a product-led sales motion

Excellent listening and communication skills - both verbal and written

Familiarity with Salesforce or comparable customer relationship management tools

Bonus: Experience with Salesloft, Salesforce, and/or Calendly
