Job Description:A health client is seeking a Vice President and Controller. This role will provide vision and leadership to the accounting function, including defining and establishing management and accountability systems to support a high-performing, analytics-driven team. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in overseeing a complex enterprise operation to ensure a seamless succession plan. This is a retained search.

Responsibilities:

Lead the enterprise financial advisory team and partner with internal audit leadership to establish a corporate-wide internal control framework for financial reporting.

Provide oversight and leadership to the attestation functions within corporate finance.

Lead the enterprise accounting functions, including governance, monthly close coordination and oversight, policies and procedures, and others.

Ensure consistency, timeliness and accuracy in accounting and reporting.

Manage the financial and tax reporting for the consolidated enterprise.

Oversee compliance with the Internal Revenue Service and state regulations for the company and its subsidiaries.

Communicate financial results to senior executives, management committees, audit and finance committees, and other constituencies.

Document the enterprise’s internal controls and routinely test their effectiveness in compliance with Model Audit Rule (MAR) requirements.

Ensure MAR is being conducted in accordance with established guidelines, including annual certification by the enterprise chief executive officer and chief financial officer for filing with the Department of Insurance and Financial Services.

Lead the finance and accounting staff training programs and ensure that the team is aware of financial management matters.

Maintain staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.

Requirements:

10+ years of work experience with increasing authority in health insurance finance leadership.

Deep knowledge of financial management systems.

Experience establishing integrated technology solutions that elevate end-to-end financial management capabilities.

Public accounting work experience.

Undergraduate degree in accounting or a related field.

Advanced degree (preferred).

Certified Public Accountant designation (preferred).
