Responsible for safely driving buses as required for Shakedown testing or delivery of local buses around the SF Bay area within 100-mile radius, starting point of Livermore, CA. Occasionally responsible for driving chase cars as needed after local deliveries to pick up fellow drivers. The ideal candidate would desire a regular schedule, enjoy the variety of driving assignments, and be proud to be an integral part of GILLIG's dynamic team.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:Operating buses safely and efficiently along designated routesAdhere to all traffic laws and regulations while drivingEV Bus Shakedown TestingShuttling buses around GILLIG yardDeliver buses to local customer locationsReport any bus malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisorKeep record of routes and mileageConduct pre trip and post trip inspections of the busesPerforms other related duties, as requiredBASIC QUALIFICATIONSMust possess a valid commercial driver's license (CLASS A or B) with passenger endorsementClean driving record with no accidents or violationsFamiliarity with local routes and traffic patterns a plusReliable and on-time with neat, professional appearance and mannerGood communication and interpersonal skillsPrior experience as a bus driver preferredIn compliance with FMCSA regulations, drivers will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing through a third-party consortiumWORK ENVIRONMENTAbility to lift 25 lbs.Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally kneel or squatStandard start time: 6:00 a.m.

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate: $30 - $35 + premium benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
