Manage all project work that is related to the development of new products, films, fitments, and general R&D activities.Support all testing and analysis related to R&D activities and NPD projects.Document and file all data, results, reports, any relevant information that is related to R&D and NPD activities in a professional manner.Support New Product Development by leading R&D initiatives and opportunities.Responsible to administer, update, and document product specifications, raw material specifications, COA’s with vendors.Ensure that all food safety and quality problems are reported to their superior officer.Perform data entry reliably and completely.Create part numbers and bag specifications.Ensure strict protocol is followed for all test methods and quality checks.Report any food and safety and quality problems to personnel of authority to initiate action.Understand the basics of bag making and QC testing.Understand different QC test procedures for submersion, air-up, burst, drop, slap and hot water testing.Understand typical failure modes a bag can experience.Communicate directly with regional and national sales managers to support new ideas and validate project concepts.Work with vendors to develop new components based on customer requirements.Develop and write specifications, create bill of materials and generate product drawings.Perform component testing and conduct line trials to test and qualify new materials.Write quality control and R&D procedures, including test protocols and reports.Own all component part numbers and part drawings and follow SQF document control guidelines.Oversee customer line trials and proof of concept testing at the store level when needed.Generate prototype samples.Create bag and component specifications (Rapak PDS film specs).Desired Skills and Experience
